This program emphasizes practical hands-on construction practices in building and civil infrastructures. All aspects of design, drafting and construction methods will be taught in lecture format as well as in field site visits. Instruction includes current building construction practices, civil infrastructure construction standards and the most current computer drafting technologies to ensure students will have the knowledge, skills and competency to enter this labor force immediately upon graduation.
Successful students are primarily suitable for employment opportunities in local construction firms, with contractors, engineering and architecture companies. Employment opportunities and further studies may also be pursued in civil engineering, building science, architecture and computer-aided design.
