The structure of the program will consist of two separate certifications that are recognized worldwide. The first certification is from completion of the 8 FITT modules required by FITT for the Forum for International Trade Diploma and the educational requirements for the Certified International Trade Professional designation (C.I.T.P.). The second certification is achieved by the completion of Module 1 of the Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association (CIFFA) program.

This program has a good balance between the training of knowledge and skills for exporting goods and services from Canada (FITT) through to the knowledge and skills developed with CIFFA’s focus on inland, air, and marine movement of goods and services from the point of view of importation into Canada. It is the balance between import and export knowledge that makes these two programs ideal to offer to our students.

Graduates will also be qualified to work in the areas of international research, international marketing, international buying, international banking, international sales, international contract management, freight forwarding and brokerage management. This program would also be an asset for those students applying for positions as customs agents, consulate officers and government trade officers.
