For many, this education has been a stepping stone to further education as an LPN or RN. Our curriculum has been designed to exceed the exacting standards of the leading health services agencies in British Columbia. The program consists of 22 courses, with individual certifications for specific competencies in:
- Medication Administration
- Palliative Care
- Dementia Care
- Slips, Trips and Falls
- CPR/First Aid
- Food Safety
Program Options - Health Care Assistant Diploma Program:
- F/T – for those with no prior education or experience in health care
- P/T – for those who demonstrate sufficient knowledge, through a Prior Learning Assessment
- Health Skills Connect Challenge - for foreign trained RN`s, physicians, and other medical professionals with current practical experience who wish to challenge the HCA exams. Challenges your theoretical and clinical skills. Comprised of 4 exams and clinical skills evaluation. Flexible, allows you to plan the challenge around your work schedule. At completion, candidate will hold HCA designation. Subsidies available to suitable candidates in recognition of prior learning and experience.
