In order to become a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Canada, nurses are required to pass the Canadian Registered Nurse Examination (CRNE) or the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination (CPNRE). These licensing exams measure the competencies required of entry-level nurses for safe and effective practice.
OMNI College’s Canadian Nursing Review Program is designed specifically for residents of Canada to pass the exam and obtain their nurse registration as either an RN or an LPN.
Success on the licensing exams require more than just reviewing content tested on the exam. It also entails knowing how to effectively make nursing judgments. Our program not only helps students develop these necessary skills, it also includes workshops that teach strategies for approaching test questions as well as a review of common medical/nursing terminology used in North America.
Who the Program is for:
The Canadian Nursing Review Program was designed for nurse graduates living in Canada who are planning to write the CRNE or CPNRE. Or, you may have already written the exam but have not been successful. Following the completion of this program, you will be more prepared to take the licensing exam and achieve a passing grade*.
*Note: successful completion of this program does not guarantee a passing grade on the licensing exam.
Admission Requirements
In order to enroll in OMNI’s Canadian Nursing Review Program, you must meet the following criteria:
- Must be currently registered as an RN in good standing in your country of origin
- Have a minimum of 1125 hours of nursing experience within the last 4 years
- Achieve a minimum CELBAN score of 6, OR a minimum IELTS score of 5.5, OR a minimum TOEFL/TSE score of 500/40, OR a minimum score of 6 on the CELBAN Readiness Test and pass an interview with the OMNI Admissions department
